OHR conducted a community based follow up meeting on girls’ education with tribal heads to end the reasons preventing girls from their schools. The meeting was conducted with CDCs, tribal elders, members of the Youth Shura, teachers and members of schools Shura of Dunae village on 15 Nov 2020 in Sarkani district to follow the issue that “Girls are not allowed by the family heads to attend schools”.

The problem of not having permission from parents to attend schools was discussed and the tribal heads decided that OHR will share list of those school age girls who do not attend schools with schools’ parents Shura and tribal elders and they will follow individually with each family to enable and force them to enroll their school age girls in schools and avoid their drop out from schools. OHR is going to visit those families again and see the progress.
