Nuristan Authorities Appreciate OHR’s CommunityInterventions

The work of Organization for Human Relief (OHR) has been appreciated through official letters from the Nuristan Directorate of Public Health and the Nuristan Directorate of Economy, recognizing and endorsing OHR’s continued community-based interventions across the province.

In their letters, both directorates commended OHR for delivering essential services to the most affected and vulnerable populations in Nuristan under extremely difficult and challenging circumstances. These interventions include psychosocial counseling for women and men, vocational skills training for women, hygiene promotion activities, distribution of school supplies to students, provision of food packages, and other critical humanitarian and protection services.

The Directorate of Public Health noted:

“We sincerely thank OHR for providing essential services to the most vulnerable and in-need people during these extremely difficult and challenging circumstances. We hope OHR will continue its valuable services in the future.”

Similarly, the Directorate of Economy stated:

“We endorse OHR’s activities and express our hope that these services and assistance will continue for the most in-need communities of Nuristan.”

These acknowledgements reflect OHR’s trusted presence and effective frontline engagement in Nuristan. OHR’s programming is implemented through close consultation with local communities, affected populations, and relevant local authorities, ensuring that interventions are culturally appropriate, responsive to actual needs, and aligned with local priorities.

As a women-led national organization rooted in community realities, OHR remains committed to strengthening partnerships, expanding access to essential services, and supporting dignity, resilience, and inclusion for communities facing hardship across Nuristan.
